About the Opportunity
Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology now has an opportunity for a full-time Scientist to join their Molecular Pathology team located at their Bowen Hills laboratory.
The successful applicant will gain experience primarily in Molecular Genetics and to a lesser degree also in Molecular Microbiology techniques to be able to cover routine infectious diseases benches.
To be successful in this role, you should possess a degree in a relevant area of study from a recognised tertiary institution. Prior experience in molecular genetics techniques will be advantageous.
You will be expected to work a variety of weekday shifts, including weekend work and public holidays as required. Currently start times vary between the hours of 6am and 12 midday as assigned to the various testing rosters.
Ideally, Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology is looking for someone who is enthusiastic, possesses good communication, organisational and problem solving skills, displays efficient time management and has the ability to work unsupervised or as part of a busy and motivated team.
A high level of commitment to laboratory turnaround times, customer service, accuracy of processing and laboratory goals is also required.
